Getting Started

What is BigPlay?

BigPlay is a premium IPTV player for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. It lets you connect your own IPTV subscriptions and stream live TV, movies, and series with a beautiful, enriched interface. BigPlay is a player only — we do not provide any content.

How do I add my IPTV playlist?

Open BigPlay, go to Settings, and tap "Add Playlist." You can add your playlist in two ways:

  • M3U URL: Paste the M3U playlist URL provided by your IPTV service
  • Xtream Codes: Enter your server URL, username, and password

Can I add multiple playlists?

Yes. BigPlay supports multiple IPTV subscriptions. You can add as many playlists as you need and switch between them quickly from the playlist manager.

Playback

What video formats are supported?

BigPlay supports all common IPTV streaming formats including HLS, MPEG-TS, and RTMP. The built-in player handles most video codecs including H.264 and HEVC (H.265).

Can I use AirPlay?

Yes. You can AirPlay content from BigPlay on your iPhone or iPad to any AirPlay-compatible device, including Apple TV and AirPlay-enabled smart TVs.

Does BigPlay support subtitles?

Yes. BigPlay supports embedded subtitles and external subtitle tracks when provided by your IPTV service. You can customize subtitle appearance in the player settings.

Can I control playback speed?

Yes. For VOD content (movies and series), you can adjust playback speed from 0.5x to 2x using the speed control in the player.

Content & Metadata

Where do movie posters and info come from?

BigPlay uses TMDB (The Movie Database) to automatically enrich your content with posters, descriptions, cast info, ratings, trailers, and episode details.

Why is some content not matched?

Metadata matching depends on the quality of your playlist's channel and content names. If names are non-standard or abbreviated, TMDB may not find a match. You can manually search and assign metadata from within the app.

Syncing & Devices

How does iCloud Sync work?

When iCloud is enabled on your device, BigPlay automatically syncs your playlists, favorites, and watch progress across all your Apple devices. Start watching on your iPhone and pick up right where you left off on your Apple TV.

Can I disable iCloud Sync?

Yes. Go to Settings in BigPlay and toggle off iCloud Sync. Your data will remain local to each device.

Which devices are supported?

BigPlay is available on:

  • iPhone — iOS 16 and later
  • iPad — iPadOS 16 and later
  • Apple TV — tvOS 16 and later

Pricing

Is BigPlay free?

Yes. BigPlay is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app purchases.

Do you provide IPTV subscriptions?

No. BigPlay is a player application only. You need your own IPTV subscription from a third-party provider. We are not affiliated with any IPTV service.

Troubleshooting

My playlist won't load

Check the following:

  • Verify your playlist URL or Xtream Codes credentials are correct
  • Ensure your IPTV subscription is active and not expired
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try removing and re-adding the playlist

Streams are buffering or freezing

This is usually related to your IPTV provider's server or your internet connection. Try:

  • Switching to a wired connection (for Apple TV) or moving closer to your Wi-Fi router
  • Restarting the app
  • Contacting your IPTV provider about server issues
